What is a hybrid bike?
Hybrid bikes aren’t quite road bikes or mountain bikes; they do a bit of everything. With a flat handlebar, upright riding position, 700c wheels, and wider tires than a road bike (typically between 30 mm and 40 mm), they prioritize comfort and stability without giving up too much speed. Some hybrid bikes come with front suspension to absorb vibrations from rough roads and bumpy paths. Most models feature disc brakes and a simple, intuitive drivetrain. Some frames are compatible with fenders, a rear rack, and panniers.

What is the difference between a hybrid and gravel bike?

Hybrid bikes are all about simplicity and comfort for daily commutes, bike path rides, and getting around town. They typically feature a flat handlebar, simple gearing, and 30 mm to 40 mm tires designed for stability.
Gravel bikes are more performance oriented and better suited to long rides on forest roads and trails. They usually feature a flared drop handlebar, wider tires (38 mm to 50 mm or more), and a wide range of gears for climbing, riding fast, or carrying equipment for bikepacking. They also tend to cost more due to higher-end, specialized components.
