Here are five tips that will get you started:
- Versatility: You might rock at downhill but not so much in endurance, or is it the other way around? Now’s the time to start working on the weaker side. Yes, we know it’s not always fun but working on your versatility will allow for a better progression as well as the acquisition of skills useful for both styles.
- Forget what you know and try to adopt a learning mindset. Fifteen minutes before riding, do some technical exercises (turning exercises, bunny hops, etc.) When you’re on the track remember to integrate those techniques to your run. And also, push the limits of those controlled drifts.
- Push your commitment: We love to challenge ourselves between friends, take the opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and push your limits.
- Improve your physical fitness.
- Sign up for lessons: It’s not always easy to be told what to do but a coach will be better able to identify your weak spots as well as recommend the proper exercises to correct them (we recommend Bromont’s Bike Skills).
