Inspired by the boots worn in Hokkaido and championed by two Swedish skiers, Fubuki is built for real winter and true snow lovers. From the start, the goal was clear: create something warm, waterproof, and tough enough for life in deep snow without the usual heft and blandness. The result? Surprisingly lightweight boots with bold colours and serious insulation, now loved by skiers, lifties, and après enthusiasts around the world. Your feet will be in heaven when you’re stepping out into -30 °C on the way to the mountain or just kicking back during outdoor après. With every step, Fubuki delivers style, comfort, and a little piece of Japan’s powder paradise.
It all started in Niseko, Japan, where young Swedish skier Kalle Norman noticed the same boots on locals working outside in deep snow. Warm, waterproof, and surprisingly light, they were an integral part of the unofficial uniform of Hokkaido’s lifties and snow-clearing crews. Norman just had to get a few pairs for himself to bring back to Europe. Once at home, he couldn’t walk to class without someone stopping him to ask about his boots. Spurred by all the interest, he began selling the Japanese boots, using his apartment as a warehouse, much to the chagrin of his roommate (and girlfriend). Soon, he teamed up with his childhood friend Christofer Ljunggren to turn his boot importation business into a brand. They called it Fubuki—the Japanese word for “snowstorm”—a fitting name for boots made for the snowiest places on Earth. Today, Fubuki boots are a global phenomenon with a Japanese-Swedish soul.
Fubuki boots blend seemingly opposite qualities. With their blocky, utilitarian silhouette and bold, joyful colours, they’re a fresh combo of practicality and panache. Inspired by the hardworking boots worn in Hokkaido, they’re tough, waterproof, grippy on ice, and built for serious winters, but thanks to their all-EVA construction, they’re astonishingly light (just 1,670 g per size 42 pair of the Niseko 3.0 High). After a long day in stiff, heavy ski boots, pulling on light, warm Fubukis is almost sublime. The limited models and small production runs only add to their appeal: these are boots with purpose, personality, and powder-day energy.
Fubuki boots are built to keep your feet toasty warm and bring a blaze of colour to the darkest winter days.
Fubuki may be a small company, but their environmental goals are anything but modest. Since launching in 2019, they’ve been committed to reducing waste, cutting emissions, and designing boots that last longer and tread lighter.
Say goodbye to clunky boots and blah design. Fubuki brings lightweight comfort, weatherproof performance, and a splash of colour everywhere you go, from icy parking lots to patios for après-ski.
