Marin’s roots run deep into mountain biking’s origins in the 1980s. Founded in 1986, the company was born in the cradle of mountain biking, in the heart of the eponymous county north of San Francisco, amidst the new sport’s technological and cultural effervescence.
An industry pioneer, Marin has become a global leader and remains an innovative force. Still based in Marin County’s rolling hills, golden meadows, and deep, shady valleys lined with redwoods, they have remained true to their origins. Their bikes always express California’s zany energy and oneirism and the flow that could only come from a surfing paradise. This is also reflected in their mantra “Made For Fun.” Their engineers focus on aspects that enhance the rider’s experience. Smart geometries, attention to mechanical details, and playful aesthetics underpin their fun-centric approach. You can feel it in every pedal stroke on all their bikes: whether it’s an enduro bike designed for the most extreme jump lines, a gravel bike made for epic outings on forest roads, a hybrid bike intended for urban commuting, or a kids’ bike that lets young ones hone their skills on the trails.
MultiTrac Suspension
The MultiTrac suspension system from Marin is designed to provide an optimal balance between pedalling efficiency and shock absorption. It smooths out bumps to maintain speed and traction on rough stretches of the trail. At the end of its travel, the suspension ramps up to prevent harshly bottoming out. This gives the rider more control and confidence during big impacts. Moreover, each bike features a leverage curve tailored to its travel, ensuring performance that’s precisely tuned to its intended use.
Bear Box Storage
The new Alpine Trail aluminum models feature the Bear Box, a storage compartment integrated into the downtube. It includes a custom nylon bag with a waterproof zipper that’s perfect for carrying your essentials. The double-sealed hatch door, which includes bottle bosses, keeps contents well protected from the elements during long rides.
Thanks to a set of exclusive cups and inserts, the Alpine Trail aluminum models allow for a steering angle adjustment of ±0.75° from the standard 63° position. This means cyclists can choose between three settings to fine-tune the bike’s handling to their riding style and the terrain.
Marin is actively involved in advocating for and promoting cycling. The brand supports organizations that build trails, improve cycling infrastructure, and make cycling more accessible to everyone. From international projects to local initiatives in California, Marin supports programs that promote youth development, environmental protection, and cyclist safety for a more inclusive future on two wheels.
