History

Peak Performance was founded in 1986 in Åre, a town nestled in the Scandinavian Mountains near Sweden’s western border. At the time, ski apparel was dominated by garish colours and loud designs, but a group of dedicated skiers wanted something different. They set out to create technical outerwear that could handle challenging mountain weather while reflecting a clean, modern aesthetic rooted in Scandinavian design. What began as a local project quickly gained momentum. Today, Peak Performance is a global leader in high-performance outerwear and active lifestyle clothing.

Programs such as WearAgains encourage resale and reuse, while initiatives such as downcycling workshops and leftover-fabric collections reflect a clear move toward circularity.

The brand has eliminated nearly all PFAS from its supply chain, banned fur and leather, and increased the use of recycled and certified materials across key product lines, such as the Frost jacket. It’s also committed to full supply chain transparency by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050 backed by measurable, science-based targets.
