Set out on your next adventure with confidence. Our selection of mountain bike shorts is designed to perform on the toughest trails. Whether you’re into technical descents, long cross-country rides, or exploration, our styles combine comfort, freedom of movement, and durability. At Oberson, we offer shorts for men, women, and kids, so everyone can enjoy the outdoors in optimal comfort. We carry top brands, such as Peppermint, Fox, Peak Performance, POC, Maloja and more. From breathable fabrics to ergonomic fits, every detail helps you focus on what matters most: riding.

Comfort and Performance in Action

Mountain bike shorts are more than just clothing: they’re a key part of your experience on two wheels. Their loose, articulated fit moves with you, and lightweight, stretchy fabrics let you pedal smoothly. Many styles feature removable liners or bike shorts with a chamois for added comfort on long days in the saddle.

Technical Materials for Real-World Conditions

From dusty trails to muddy descents, your shorts need to adapt to any situation. That’s why it’s important to consider the materials’ different features.

  • Water-repellent finish: Many shorts feature a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment that causes water to bead up and helps repel light moisture. It’s perfect for staying dry despite splashing or wet undergrowth.
  • Abrasion resistance: Durable fabrics withstand snags from branches, rocks, or crashes so your shorts last longer.
  • Breathability: Technical fibres allow air to circulate and heat to escape, helping regulate your body temperature on challenging climbs.
  • Strategic ventilation: Some styles feature laser-cut perforations or mesh panels in key areas to maximize airflow and keep you feeling fresh, even during intense exertion.

Details That Make a Difference

When you’re riding, every detail counts. The mountain bike shorts we carry stand out with features that make all the difference.

  • Precise waist adjustment: Mountain bike shorts often feature systems for quick adjustments—such as Velcro, snap buttons, or micrometric buckles—for a perfect fit that stays in place, even on the most technical descents.
  • Secure pockets: Perfect for carrying keys, a phone, or energy bars, zippered or flap pockets keep your essentials protected from bumps and the elements during your ride.
  • Optimal length: Designed to fall just above the knee, mountain bike shorts cover your knee pads while allowing full freedom of movement, whether you’re climbing or descending.
  • Reflective details: Subtle by day but visible at night, these features enhance your safety when light levels drop, for example, on the ride home.
  • Chamois: Some shorts come with an integrated chamois (or a removable liner with a chamois) that provides strategic padding to reduce pressure and friction on long rides. Other styles are designed without a chamois so they can be worn over your favourite cycling shorts or as casual apparel on or off the bike.
