BUYING GUIDE

Running shoes

Surface, cushioning, support, drop, and fit: discover the key elements for choosing the right running shoes.

Choosing the Right Running Shoes

Running shoes are designed for different surfaces and running styles. Road running shoes are made for pavement. They’re lightweight and flexible for smooth transitions and efficient movement on both everyday runs and longer distances. Trail running shoes offer more grip, durability, and protection for rocky, root-strewn, muddy paths in the woods and mountains. Gravel running shoes can handle mixed surfaces, including pavement, gravel roads, and well-maintained trails.

When choosing running shoes, consider the surfaces you run on most often, as well as the level of cushioning, support, drop, and overall fit that feels best to you. Some runners prefer a softer, more protective feel, while others look for a lighter, more responsive experience. Whatever your needs and preferences, the right pair should feel natural and work with your running style.

At Oberson, you’ll find a wide selection of running shoes for paved roads, gravel roads, and trails. Our specialists are also available online or in our Laval and Brossard stores to help you find the right pair for your running style.
