The Oberson Team’s Top Ski Runs in Quebec

At Oberson, almost all of us are passionate about winter sports. Our childhood ski hill, our latest weekend trip to the Gaspé Peninsula, or our next adventure in the Alps are all recurring subjects of conversation. These discussions can quickly turn into lively debates, with one person defending their favourite pair of skis or making the case for their top resort. This time, we decided to ask a tough question: What’s the best ski run in Quebec? Here’s what the Oberson team had to say

Miss O — Alexandra Oberson, Oberson President

Ms. Oberson has spoken: the best run in Quebec is the Nagano glade at Grands-Fonds.

Why? Because you can make fresh tracks all day long—a rare treat in Quebec.

After a long day shredding immaculate powder, Alexandra loves heading to La Malbaie for a hot chocolate and the picturesque view of the Saint Lawrence River from the iconic Manoir Richelieu.

The Boss — Daniel l’Écuyer, Oberson Vice-President

Daniel’s pick? Sous-Bois XL at Ski Montcalm.

The Boss has a special fondness for this family-friendly Lanaudière resort, which has been his favourite mountain for the past five years. The family-oriented resort has a magic atmosphere and always gets plenty of snow. Despite what its name suggests (sous-bois means glade in French), Sous-Bois XL isn’t actually a tree run—it’s the perfect trail for carving. And if there’s one thing we all know about Dan, it’s that carving is his specialty!

His guilty pleasure after a big ski day is a quick stop at Casse-Croûte 125. Nothing beats refueling with a poutine after expending so much energy!

The Mini Boss — Frédérique, Alexandra’s Daughter

The Sonoma glade at Bromont holds a special place in little Fred’s heart.

Why this choice? She loves venturing into glades with her mom, who passed down a passion for off-piste skiing. Fred has a soft spot for this one because it’s steep, narrow, and a reliable powder stash. She’s also drawn to the Côte Ouest sector because of its lighter traffic and natural terrain. Word is, she knows all the hidden spots on that side of the mountain.

Bromont, montagne d’expériences, offers 7 areas, 11 lifts, 125 runs for all levels, and 9 terrain parks. Endless fun in an idyllic setting awaits at this mountain in the Eastern Townships.

The King — Mikael Kingsbury, Canadian Freestyle Skier and Oberson Ambassador

For Mikael, the answer is easy: La Nordique at Sommet Saint-Sauveur.

This resort is where the mogul skiing champion first learned to ski and where his family still gathers at their chalet. He can step into his skis at any time of day (or night!) and head straight onto the slopes. Sommet Saint-Sauveur is home. No matter how far his success and international fame take him, his roots and childhood memories will always have a special place in his heart.

Le Sommet Saint-Sauveur is the ultimate hub for entertainment. Its vast network of runs, excellent snow conditions, off-slope activities, lively atmosphere, and festive après-ski scene make this mountain a place where everyone finds their version of happiness.

The Tall Skier — Charles Trudeau, Assistant Manager, Brossard

Rather than picking a single run, Charles, our dedicated alpine touring enthusiast, chose an entire mountainside—because the natural, minimally thinned glades at his favourite spot don’t have names. Mont Hereford, specifically the Trois Dames sector, is where he reaches peak winter euphoria. Trois Dames features intermediate-to-expert lines and a magnificent 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains.

Those short on time can just do one or several laps in the Versant des Piments area. Try the various gladed lines on this spicy mountainside—Ghost Pepper, Habanero, and Paprika, among others! The most motivated skiers combine the Versant des Trois Dames and Versant des Piments areas for a truly epic day of skiing or riding.

Sam — Samuel Proulx, Snowboard Buyer

Sam bestows the title of best run in Quebec to the one under the chairlift at La Réserve, as the locals affectionately call it.

Our buyer’s winning formula for the perfect run? A steep pitch, just enough moguls, and a bit of a drop at the end. This run is especially amazing after a heavy snowfall.

Samuel has a deep appreciation for this mountain, the ultimate destination for adventure seekers because of its natural terrain and authentic character.

Clemski — Clément Trottier, Technician and Consultant, Brossard

Clément, or Clemski as we like to call him, ranks La Super at Mont-Orford as the top run in Quebec.

Why? Because it’s sick. (His words, not ours!) This run delivers pure adrenaline and total bliss—it’s steep, loaded with moguls, and offers drops for the most daring riders and skiers.

After a beautiful day of skiing, Clément likes to stroll through Old Magog admiring Merry Nord Street’s historic architecture, browsing in local shops, and checking out the many restaurants.

Sebiche — Sébastien Rousseau, Assistant Manager, Laval

For Sebiche, Côte 71 at Sommet Saint-Sauveur is the most enjoyable ski trail in Quebec. His pick comes down to the steep slope angle and access to fun glades. And the sides of the run are such a blast that it makes him feel like a kid again.

After a day of multiple runs down Côte 71, Sébastien often heads to T-Bar 70 for a bite to eat—and sometimes even a drink.

Dominator — Dominic Brunelle, Director

For Dominic, the best run in Quebec is La St-Bernard at Mont-Tremblant.

Why bestow this honour to such a short run? He loves the quick descent and readily admits that what he enjoys even more is reaching the bottom and heading straight to La Forge bar. Something tells us this choice isn’t purely coincidental: the trail conveniently leads straight to the bar, which just so happens to be known for its legendary après-ski scene.

Gabichou — Gabriel Aubertin, Department Manager, Laval

For Gabichou (his nickname of choice!), the best run in Quebec is tucked away at La Réserve. He gives the gold medal to Sous-bois.

He’s always had a soft spot for this mountain because it’s where he first learned to ski and fell in love with the sport. For him, skiing at La Réserve means tapping into childhood memories. As he weaves through its tight trees, Sous-bois takes him back to those early days on skis with his family.

Gabriel often brings his alpine touring gear for a day at La Réserve. He loves skiing in the Versant Nature backcountry area.

Gillus — Gilles Heynemand, Ski Advisor, Laval

For Gillus, the best run in Quebec is Kandahar at Mont-Tremblant.

Skiers soar down the mountain on this thrilling trail. His absolute favourite aspect—and what for him is pure skiing bliss—is that it’s perfect for giant slalom turns.

Gilles has a special fondness for the Versant Edge area. At 840 meters, the summit offers a breathtaking view of the region and access to an array of thrilling runs.

J.J., aka Le Patron — Jean-Julien Perrault, Manager, Laval

J.J. adores Mont-Habitant. For him, the gold medal for the best trail in Quebec goes to La Tuque, which can be found at the Laurentian ski area.

For such a small mountain, Mont-Habitant has a surprisingly fun vertical drop. A former ski racer, he still remembers the countless practices and many runs down La Tuque that brought him such joy. Now, as a dedicated ski dad, there’s nothing he loves more than watching his daughter weave through gates at full speed. He says the feeling is indescribable—and truly magical.

Pedro — Terrell Lopez, Snowboard Consultant, Laval

Our hardcore snowboarder identified Algonquin at Mont-Tremblant as the best run in Quebec.

This long, fun descent is Terrell’s go-to trail at the end of the day. One of Mont-Tremblant’s classics, it’s the perfect run to unwind while enjoying the view.

If you’re looking to get your heart rate up, you can also skin up Algonquin all the way to the summit. The view alone makes the climb worth it!

P’tit Gars — Yannick Deslauriers, Buyer

Yannick looks to Charlevoix, specifically the municipality of Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, for his top pick.

The 1.3 km is skiing at its best—fresh snow, endless moguls, and glades. What more could you ask for? This run stays relatively untouched since you have to put in some effort to get there. In fact, Yannick proudly claims it’s his trail. Anyone care to disagree?

If you’re passing through the magnificent municipality of Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, take the opportunity to experience its striking beauty and unmatched appeal to outdoor enthusiasts.

The Saguenay Girl — Anouk Girard, Ski Consultant, Brossard

They say you can take the girl out of the Saguenay, but you can’t take the Saguenay out of the girl, right? So it’s no surprise that Anouk’s pick can be found at the Valinouët ski resort: for her, the best run in Quebec is Yéti.

This ski area in the heart of the Monts-Valin is renowned for its 100% natural snow, and according to Anouk, the snowfall is always abundant! That’s what creates the perfect conditions for the steep, challenging glade. After a day on the slopes, we know exactly where to find her. She loves wrapping up long ski days at the resto-pub that’s the namesake of her favourite run.
