Ripstick 88″80 Years″ Adult Alpine Skis

• TRIGLAV CUT: The Triglav shape in the tail is precisely cut using a water jet and depicting Slovenia’s highest peak, which is visible from the entrance of Elan’s headquarters. This icon is significant to Slovenia, as it’s found on both the national flag and crest.
• FISHBONE PATTERN: The fishbone pattern illustrates the historical sophistication of Elan skis. The desgin is screen printed onto the wood, and celebrates Elan being the first ski manufacturer to ever use screenprinted graphics. The pattern itself is connected to a particular style of precision wood flooring, which is popular in Slovenian architecture.
• WOODEN SIDEWALL: When we started handcrafting skis in 1945, wood was virtually the only material used in the process and components. The choice to use wood for the sidewall in this ski is inspired by our heritage and tradition of making wooden skis.
• METALLIC RIPSTICK & ELAN BADGING: This 80 year anniversary model is based on the Ripstick 88 chassis, built with additional details like metal badging and precision cuts that showcase our technical abilities and attention to detail. While we don’t use metal in the core of Ripstick, it is staple material for building skis and is found in many of our other products.
• 80 YEARS LOGO: To celebrate our 80th anniversary of handcrafting skis in the Slovenian Alps, our design team used the number 80 to represent the tracks left by the linked turns of skiers. The number eight forms the shorter turn of slalom skis and the zero represents the longer turn of a freeride ski. Throughout Elan’s history, racing and freeride skis have elevated the brand to where it is today.
