ANOMALY : Blizzard's New Era of All-Mountain Skiing

Some skiers stick to well-established lines down the mountain others trace their own. Their signature isn’t written in letters or measured in athletic accolades. It’s their unique way of experiencing the mountains that defines who they are. Blizzard calls this kind of skier an Anomaly.

With the Anomaly collection, recently launched and now in its second year, Blizzard is offering far more than a new look. The brand has reinvented all-mountain skis with a product line for skiers who don’t see themselves in the usual categories. To understand where this new family of skis came from, Oberson sat down with Blizzard’s development team, who gave us a glimpse inside their creative process and underlying motivations. What did we find? A bold collectionmade for passionate skiers and those who love exploring the mountainthat expresses the company’s desire to redefine the sport and push it forward. Above all, it’s their tribute to each skier’s individuality.

Redefining All-Mountain Skiing: The Anomaly Collection’s Origins

For years, skis in the Brahma collection were a touchstone at Blizzard: they were reliable, stable, precise, and able to handle tough descents with remarkable aplomb. But at Blizzard, they never rest on their reputation—they build on it.

In that spirit, the ideas behind the creation of the Anomaly collection took shape. The goal wasn’t to break with the Brahma series’ heritage, but to bring its power to a more modern experience. The team wanted to design skis that kept the previous collection’s strength and control while adding more flow, intuitiveness, and versatility.

In short, they sought to take the best of the Brahmas and go even further.

The Anomaly collection is for skiers who don’t fit into a mould. These skiers are curious, nimble, and playful. Every run is an exploration. Blizzard’s catchphrase deems them “No Ordinary Skiers” because they don’t ski to be seen; they ski because that’s when they feel most like themselves.

Blizzard wanted to honour this singular way of being on snow. And that’s how the collection celebrating authenticity over conformity and personal expression over standardization was born.

An Evolution, Not a Clean Break: A New Chapter for Blizzard

If the Anomaly collection marks a visible shift in Blizzard’s lineup, it also signals a deeper evolution in how the brand imagines its place in the ski industry. Long known for skis that are precise, technical, and full of character, Blizzard is now embracing an additional dimension: individual expression.

With the Anomaly, the brand brings two worlds together:

  • The manufacturing precision that built its reputation

  • A more contemporary identity grounded in creativity, style, and each skier’s individuality

This isn’t a repositioning—it’s a broadening. Blizzard isn’t turning away from its performance-oriented heritage; it’s enriching it by underscoring what sets each skier apart: how they trace their unique line down the mountain.

From Brahma to Anomaly: The Significant Differences

How is the Anomaly collection blazing a truly new path?

1. A Completely Re-Engineered Construction

The collection has introduced the brand-new Fluxform All-Mountain construction. It’s engineered to deliver rock-solid stability at high speeds while adapting more easily to different snow conditions. The ski feels smoother through transitions, more precise when setting an edge, and more dynamic. The result is a ski that’s powerful yet less demanding, technical yet accessible, strong yet refined.

2. A More Intuitive Feel

While the Brahma collection spoke to skiers who appreciated a very direct, solid feel, the Anomaly widens the spectrum. The ski channels the skier’s intentions rather than reining them in. This makes for a skiing style that’s freer, lighter, and above all, more personal.

3. A Strategic Visual Identity

The skis’ design is woven into the Anomaly collection’s DNA. Blizzard wanted the ski’s topsheet to tell the story of a skier who sees the mountain differently.

The graphics suggest movement and the freedom to ski your own way. The bottom of the ski evokes snow, while the top reflects each skier’s one-of-a-kind character—a reminder that every run down the mountain is unique. The cleaner, more modern aesthetic makes the Anomaly series stand out instantly in a market where graphics are often busy or homogeneous. It clearly expresses the collection’s spirit: quiet confidence, elegance, and boldness.

A Community Built Around Authenticity

Strong values have always defined Blizzard’s culture: passion, respect for the mountains, and a serious approach to athletic performance. With the Anomaly collection, the brand adds a new pillar: a recognition of each skier’s individuality.

“You’re an Anomaly” has become more than a marketing message. It’s an invitation to embrace your own skiing style, whether it’s expressive, technical, cautious, committed, or imaginative.

This philosophy comes through in various ways:

  • Collaborations with athletes who have distinctive styles

  • Creative projects that highlight skiers’ personalities

  • Local events and community initiatives that celebrate the wide array of skiing styles

The Anomaly series isn’t just a product; it’s a culture, a way of acknowledging skiers who are unlike anyone else.

A Standout This Year at Oberson

At Oberson, the Anomaly collection holds a special place. Our 2025–2026 selection includes three models: the Anomaly84, the Anomaly88, and the Anomaly94.

Anomaly84

This fluid, intuitive ski is surprisingly stable for its width. It gives back what you put into it—whether that’s a burst of energy or a touch of finesse. It’s undeniably powerful yet more versatile than you might expect. It excels on hardpack while still giving advanced and expert skiers the ability to explore the ski area’s outer boundaries. Push it hard, and it delivers impeccable edge grip and outstanding rebound at high speeds.

Anomaly88

This ski for intermediate and advanced skiers is energetic, responsive, and highly versatile. It’s up for anything, whether you’re carving on groomers or darting through mogul fields. It offers stability at high speeds and agile, smooth handling at moderate speeds and in tighter spaces.

Anomaly94

The Anomaly94 masterfully tackles all snow conditions. It’s perfect for experienced skiers who want to venture off the beaten path, ski a bit of powder, and still have a strong, trustworthy ski on firm terrain. Its easy pivoting adds an extra confidence boost. This ski lets you play with gravity on groomers, chase powder stashes along trail edges, zigzag through trees, or lay down big turns in heavy snow without a moment’s hesitation.

These three models are suited to different terrain types and preferences, all while preserving the essence of the collection: performance, flow, and individuality.

Why choose the Anomaly collection?

Because there are skis that deliver performance and reliability and then there are those which, on top of that, reflect who you are.

The Anomaly is the ski for those who want to trust themselves, find more flow, and above all, ski their own way. It’s a ski that doesn’t ask you to be someone else; it meshes with who you already are: a one-of-a-kind skier seeking a different line, a skier who dares to be an Anomaly.

An Invitation to Make Your Mark

The Anomaly collection is a turning point for Blizzard and an exciting opportunity for skiers. It brings a more modern, more human vision to the sport, where technique meets personality and performance becomes a form of personal expression rather than an end goal.

And for those who see themselves in the spirit of this collection—those who love to find their own line down the slopes—we have just one thing to say: you’re an Anomaly. The mountain awaits your tracks.
