NNormal: Anything but Ordinary

NNormal trail running gear is anything but. That double N is the tip-off: it’s the contraction of “no normal.” The moniker reflects the extraordinary cofounders, Kilian Jornet and Camper (the name also condenses Nor- from Jornet’s home and training grounds in western Norway with Mal- from Mallorca, Camper’s island headquarters).

Jornet grew up in a Pyrenean hut and went on to become trail running’s incandescent superstar. In addition to dominating the ultramarathon racing circuit, he’s renowned for his superhuman endurance feats. His latest project, States of Elevation, was a journey between and over the continental United States’ fourteeners (mountains over 14,000 feet) by foot and bicycle in just thirty-one days.

Meanwhile, Camper brings its own uncommonness to the young company. With roots steeped in generations of artisanal and then larger-scale shoemaking, the venerable footwear company is known for impeccable materials, meticulous construction, and quietly unconventional design.
